Her career in journalism began with Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and reporter for news at WPDE-TV. In later years, she was employed by WCBD as a morning anchor and crime reporter. Her articles from Charleston concerning how Charleston police dealt with DUI cases with care, resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. The investigation resulted a stricter directive for state authorities. In the year 2000, The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell by awarding her the Best Report of the Years Award in all South Carolina Media. O'Dell was a reporter and anchor for a time working in Charleston working as a journalist and anchor at the NBC Miami WTVJ-TV station prior to moving into Access Hollywood where she is currently a co-anchor and correspondent on weekends. O'Dell is the anchor of choice for Access Hollywood. In addition, she contributes in NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She has covered major events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. In addition to co-hosting Pre-ShowArrivals to The Emmys & The Golden Globes. Co-hosted The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
